Silent Killers: They Kill 100,000 People Annually and Everyone Uses Them

Every year, thousands of people die as result of the pollution in their home. The worst part is that they are not even aware of it.The air fresheners and cleaning supplies are silent killers in the households, schools, and offices. According to the most recent report to be published this week, these silent killers are to blame for 99,000 deaths in Europe.

The report warns people that the bad quality of the air in closed rooms is result of various household items, defective heaters, sprays, and air fresheners. These items, as well as the cosmetic products, are considered to be the most dangerous pollutants, as they contain liquid chemicals which evaporate very easily. In addition to these items, this list includes certain furniture, fiber, and glue containing evaporating formaldehyde which irritates the respiratory tract and the lungs. Formaldehyde is used in more than 3,000 products, all of which are widely used in our homes. The list includes air fresheners, plastics, cosmetic products, etc.

Other substances which are likely to negatively affect the human health are some biological materials, such as dust, mold, and animal hair, all of which can be found in our homes.

This report is done by eminent British Health Organizations, such as Royal College of Physicians (RCP) и Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (RCPCH).

Better isolation and ventilation are some of the best ways to manage pollution in your home.

According to the report, “The home pollution can negatively affect the development of the fetus, especially the lungs and kidneys. It can also cause abortion and stroke in elderly people, and it is also associated with asthma, dementia, obesity, and cancer.”
